ESPRIT had to be a portable and private information resource for key product managers worldwide. It had to define the Leadership, Action, People, and Tools essential for success, and accommodate the varying complexities of each new opportunity by defining Project Leadership tips to help speed product-to-market, regardless of the project size or risk. The tool would have to enable KPG to make decisions about when to develop, release, and hold new products based on changing business drivers and financial opportunity. Filnet compressed a massive library of diverse materials ranging from management, personnel and product information and tools in different formats onto a universal medium accessible to all employees, regardless of location. Filnet also organized and cross-referenced volumes of vital information into a simple, easy-to-use format with an intuitive and aesthetically pleasing front end. Tools for accessing and using the information included Product Road Maps (flow charts) to identify, document, and plan the evolution of products and product families, and Product Life Cycle Plans to capture and analyze key data used in determining the optimal time to initiate the product change and rollover identified in the Product Road Maps.
Filnet created a CD-ROM housing 400 static pages referencing the ESPRIT data to meet Kodak's portability requirement. Filnet chose different color-coordinated schemes to create attractive navigational elements for each section. Vivid colors and matching-color photographs depicting nature draw the user into the information of the page, which can vary from text to flowcharts and other corporate data. The design made use of black backgrounds to set off elements ranging from stunning photographs to potentially boring flowcharts, presenting them in exciting ways. Filnet's creative solution fulfilled the many requirements of the project within the established budget. The Kodak Polychrome Graphics website is a quality solution that met and exceeded - all of Kodak's expectations.
